I attended the grand opening for the newest eatery at Lowe Mill, The Veggie.

This one-of-a-kind restaurant boasts a completely vegan and eco-friendly menu filled with classic favorites. From the Philly Cheese Patty Melt to the Buffalo Shrimp Po’ Boy, there is something for everybody – whether you’re a vegan or not! Each meal is crafted with an Impossible patty or another creative meat substitute, offering rich and authentic flavors. I selected the Crabless Cake Sammy, which was deliciously breaded, fried, and topped with a BBQ remoulade. Make sure to arrive hungry because the portions are generous, and many of the menu options come with a side of fries or salad. My meal was more than enough to leave me with no room for dessert, but that didn’t stop me from eyeing the handmade cinnamon rolls!

While waiting for your order, take a seat on the green velvet couch and snap some pictures among the gorgeous palms and snake plants. The hot pink checkered floor and abstract wall décor provide a fun and funky atmosphere perfect for a lunch date. Even if you can’t stay for long, make sure to check out what’s available in the grab-and-go cooler; or snag a cinnamon roll, cookie, or drink on your way to visit the artists in the mill. On Saturdays, stop by for their all-day brunch between 10 and 3. You can choose between several menu items and stock up on a variety of sides.
So, whenever you make your way to visit The Veggie, it will be the first of many. If you’re anything like me, you’ll be back time and again to taste everything on the menu!
