It’s the Ides! The Ides of March! They’re here. But, thankfully, so are lots of other good events in the Rocket City.

Wednesday night brings plenty of options around town.

1 – First up, the weekly Board Game Meetup gathers at JC’s House of Cards in Madison. Games hit the table at 6 p.m., with teaching, learning, and friendly competition built right into the evening.

2 – Then, Kamado Ramen in MidCity hosts Anime Trivia at 6:30, and this week’s theme is the anime classic Sailor Moon. Expect noodles, nostalgia, and a chance to prove your knowledge of magical girl lore.

3 – Rounding out Wednesday evening, Innerspace hosts trivia night. Trivia Masters presents general knowledge trivia night at 7pm. It’s a relaxed night of questions, guesses, and the occasional moment of “I know that!”

On Saturday, March 14, The Bookwyrm on South Parkway hosts a Learn to Play Dungeons & Dragons session from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Inside the cozy used bookstore next to Das Stahl, adventurers new and old can gather around the table and roll some dice.

And the big event of the week arrives Friday and Saturday with the Huntsville Comic Convention at Lowe Mill. Dealers, artists, and creators will fill the historic halls for two days of comics, collectibles, and pop-culture celebration inside the largest privately owned arts center in the country.

Even with the time change stealing an hour, the Rocket City still finds plenty of ways to fill the week — from board games and trivia nights to dragons, dice, and a full weekend of comic culture.
